Andrea was born and raised in Munich, Germany. She received both her bachelor's and master's degrees at LMU Munich, working on the synthesis of sinoracutine and sinoraculine (under Prof. Dirk Trauner) and the synthesis of bioactive benzothiazolium heterostilbene photoswitches and cytotoxic benzothiazoloquinolinium heterocycles (under Dr. Oliver Thorn-Seshold). She also spent time at Princeton University, working with Prof. Abigail Doyle on a novel C–O activation protocol. In her free time, Andrea enjoys horse riding and yoga as well as cooking for her family and friends - which now includes the Reisman group!
