Born in balmy Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nathan Friede grew up in the town of Bentonville, Arkansas. Wanting to feel the freedom of not being landlocked, he went to Pomona College in Claremont, Ca where he received his BS in Chemistry in 2022, where he researched sulfonyl fluorides under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas Ball. He enjoys hiking, listening to music, cooking, and going on quests to increase his experience points, and particularly enjoys the flavor of dilute aqueous acetic acid.
