Shogo Hanada is a visiting researcher in the Reisman Group at Caltech and a process chemist at Astellas Pharma, where he focuses on developing practical and scalable processes for pharmaceutical production. Originally from Japan, he received his M.S. from Tohoku University in 2017 and his Ph.D. from the University of Tsukuba in 2024. His doctoral research focused on the total synthesis of natural products. Outside the lab, he enjoys whiskey and golf, and often spends time with his family. He is also actively working on improving his English—an ongoing “long-term project.”
